Marilyn Monroe supposedly never went to bed without her Chanel No. 5 perfume; that was her bedtime routine. I talk about my makeup, skincare and haircare allllll the time, but I’ve barely written about perfumes! I love perfume, but I’m not one of those people who has one signature scent. Maybe it’s because I live somewhere with actual seasons, and I don’t have a perfume that works in cold weather and beach weather, but honestly it’s probably because I change my perfume with my mood. I have a few bottles that I always use, and I wanted to share them with you, because they’re a really varied bunch, and I think everyone would like at least one of them…
Chloe Eau de Parfum – This perfume has been in my rotation for years now, because I love roses and peonies. Floral prints, candles, skincare, actual fresh flowers in my house, they’re kind of a staple in my life. I’ve also never gotten more compliments than when I’m wearing this scent. If you want to feel ladylike and classy, give it a try!
Bobbi Brown Beach Fragrance – One of my pet peeves is things that claim to smell like the ocean but don’t, i.e. candles or perfume. As someone who lives on the beach for a few months out of the year, I take pride in being a true beach babe, and that means I’m picky about bringing it home with me. This perfume smells like the beach and ocean so much that my sister swears it even has some sunscreen scent in it. It is similar, yet inexpensive alternative to Maison Martin Margiela ‘REPLICA’ Beach Walk.
Commodity Moss – I’ve written a little bit about this one before, but it is a great unisex, fresh fragrance. I carry a travel size spray of this in my bag every day.
Marc Jacobs Mod Noir – After receiving a deluxe sample from Sephora, this is one of my new favorites. Like the aforementioned “Moss,” it is a fresh scent, but a little more feminine because of the gardenias.
4711 by Muelhens – I saved my favorite for last. This cologne is very special to me for sentimental reasons. My mom has been using it since before I was born, and it was the only scent that kept her sane during her morning sickness. Interestingly, I have always had a very sensitive stomach, and this scent has always helped me too! I keep a giant bottle of this in my bathroom because, 1: it is beautiful, 2: it makes me happy to see it in my bathroom because my mom also has a bottle in hers, and 3: because I wear it at least once a week.
I think you can tell a lot about a person by the scent he or she chooses to wear. So from the ones that I wear, I guess you would know that I don’t have my life all figured out yet, but that I’m a person who wants to experience as much of the world as possible. I’d love to know what scents you guys love!

Good theory that the seasons don’t allow for a signature scent. I’m the same way with perfumes. I love having multiples. And I’m from Canada so your theory makes sense.
