I discovered Mario Badescu when I was eighteen years old.  I was a freshman in college, and my skin was beginning to freak out from too much pizza and not enough sleep.  It was my first foray into non-drugstore skincare, and it continues to be a great choice for my skin, even though my product choices have shifted as my skin has evolved.

Mario Badescu is known for effective, simple, gentle, and shockingly affordable products.  In 1967, Mario began doing European facials out of his Manhattan apartment.  Clients found him by word of mouth recommendations only, but his classic-yet-personalized facials quickly grew into the empire it is today.  He created a brand beloved by the press and online, a go-to for celebrities and the biggest names in beauty and skincare.  Almost fifty years later, Mario Badescu is sold online, in stores, and a salon in New York that continues Mario’s vision for beautiful skin at every age.

Today, I’ve rounded up my favorites from the multitude; they have something for every skin type, so they make great gifts, too!

Special Cucumber Lotion – This is a new addition to my skincare routine, but I’m really liking it so far.

Seaweed Night Cream – Lightweight but extremely moisturizing, this cream melts into my skin.  I’ve been using this every night since I bought it, and my skin has been a lot less dry than usual.

Drying Lotion – I used to have to cover my face in this stuff.  It’s one of the best spot treatments ever.

Oil-Free SPF 30 Moisturizer – This is a great day cream for anyone with skin that is inexplicably dry and oily.  We’re a lucky bunch, we know.

Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, Rosewater – one of the most refreshing and nourishing of its kind.  I always keep a bottle of this around.
