Curated: Warm in the Winter

Much like the horrible incoming president we hoped we’d never have to survive, winter has arrived, and all we can do is tough it out. Boston has already had snow, and my heat is on blast all the time, while I immerse myself in a pile of enormous sweaters. But there is a beauty trend that I’m really liking lately that offsets cold temperatures and lightens my mood: warm-toned makeup.

I’ve always loved warm shades of highlighter or warm metallic eyeshadow, but this style goes beyond that. It’s using your blush as eyeshadow and pairing it with a warm red lip like YSL Rouge Pur Couture in ‘Le Orange,’ and matching all of it to a beautiful red sweater like this one from Mango. The best thing about this trend is that you can use things like blush and lipstick that you already have – get creative!
