Fashion at the Met Gala is always extremely captivating, yet confusing. The themes are not always understood, and the attendees do not always dress for the theme, but that only makes it more interesting. Tonight, Emma Watson wore the sequel to her pants/dress ensemble from the White House Correspondents Dinner, Kanye West accessorized by putting alien contact lenses in his eyes, and Claire Danes literally glowed. The theme this year was “Manus X Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology,” which basically boiled down to a lot of florals, metallics, gothic makeup, and chunky boots. As the night went on, I ended up seeing a lot of looks that I loved – check them out!
Amber Heard had the Midas touch in Ralph Lauren Collection.
Margot Robbie brought the California Girl-look to New York in this clean-cut Calvin Klein Collection gown and Tiffany & Co. jewels.
Naomi Watts’ Burberry combined the two biggest trends of the night: heavy metal and florals.
Dakota Fanning looked like a blonde Morticia Adams in Nina Ricci.
Emily Ratajkowski was fierce (do people even still say that?) in Prabal Gurung.
Karolina Kurkova’s Marchesa gown was one of my favorites! It had all the etherealness of springtime AND the flowers lit up.
If there was a prize for best detail, Rachel McAdams’ Valentino gown would win.
As usual, Beyoncé showed up fashionably late, this time in latex Givenchy.
Nina Dobrev was golden in Marchesa
Blake Lively stunned in this caped confection from Burberry.
