Fenty Beauty

After two long years, Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty line is finally here, and it was definitely worth the wait. I went to Sephora to buy a few things to test, and so far I’ve been using them every time I put on makeup! Though I had almost all of the products used on me when I did a cool photo shoot in September, these are the ones I actually purchased and love…

So far, I’m loving the Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer, which – though I’m only one woman who can’t speak for the world – probably actually looks good on everyone. The shade is sheer but gives a nice, natural wash of color, perfect for everyday wear when I don’t want to deal with an actual lipstick, which is almost every day. The formula isn’t sticky, and a little goes a long way.

The coolest product I’ve tried from Fenty is probably the Match Stix, which come in a wide range of colors and are available as blushes, highlighters, contours, and foundation/concealers. The sticks are magnetized, so they stick together to form a honeycomb of sorts, and are easy to carry around. The stick formula might look intense when you first draw it on, but it blends very naturally. I’ve been using ‘Amber’ as the contouring shade to see if I like it better than Kim Kardashian’s contour stick, but I really I love wearing Yacht Lyfe, a NARS “Orgasm”-esque peachy pink which gives me the perfect glow when I want to wear almost zero makeup and look like I wore none.

The most incredible thing about Rihanna’s new line is that there are actually shades for every skin tone. Being a white woman, my skin tone is fairly easy to find. I may get a little tan in the summer, but I’ve never had trouble matching my skin tone to most makeup brands. Makeup should be something everyone can enjoy, and I’m glad Rihanna made a line that is inclusive enough to further that. Bravo, Rihanna.
