Meet Wowder: Glossier’s First Powder Product

This week, Glossier officially enters into two new areas of beauty with their first powder, Wowder, and its accompanying brush.  It’s a different direction than the brand’s usual ‘dewy’ look, more of a satin finish.  As someone with a shiny t-zone, I’m over the moon.

Here’s what you need to know about Glossier’s newest duo:

Wowder is mattifying powder that will “cut shine, blur the appearance of pores, set makeup” all without looking chalky, leaving a white cast, or looking weird in photographs a la Angelina Jolie.  Wowder comes in the shades, but don’t let that deter you; they are sheer and adaptable, and as the photos suggest, they look good on every skin tone.  Talk about impressive.

To me, the coolest thing is the packaging.  The trampoline mesh ensures a mess-free amount of powder with every light tap of your brush, instead of worrying about opening the container to a disaster.  The powder itself is made of diamond powder, kaolin clay, and vitamin E, and unlike most face products, it is talc-free.  These power ingredients combined create a matte-but-not-flat finish, yet another Glossier product that amplifies your natural beauty.

When it comes to brushes, I am very picky.  So many of them shed hairs or don’t work well for blending or setting.  Glossier’s first foray into the tool is almost like a dream; it’s so soft and fluffy that I almost wish I could live in it!  The bristles are synthetic, and it comes in an adorable little hygienic travel case.  As with everything Glossier makes, it’s as gorgeous as it is well-made.

So far, I am very impressed with the newest launch.  My face usually needs an oil blot every few hours, but my skin has been looking flawless for over eight hours now.

You can buy the powder and brush separately or save $7 on the duo!  I’m so excited about these products and thrilled to have another Glossier addition to my routine.  I’d love to hear about your favorite Glossier buys!

Love, Me
