Detox DIY: Matcha & Charcoal Mask

Learning how to face the unpredictability of seasonal skincare has been one of my biggest challenges.  In the winter, cold air and harsh winds make my skin very dry, and in the summer, my typically clear skin is under attack from sun, sweat, and heat.  Basically, it’s a lot of fun being me.

In my neverending quest for perfect skin, I’ve taught myself a lot about natural skin remedies.  This face mask combines two of my favorite purifying and detoxifying ingredients: matcha green tea and activated charcoal.  It’s also incredibly simple, inexpensive, and effective!

What You’ll Need:

Matcha – I like Trader Joe’s individual packets for this mask and for making lattes

Activated Charcoal Pills – you can find them at Whole Foods, Amazon, or most drugstores

Water – you can also use coconut oil or Greek yogurt if you prefer!

Simply mix the ingredients together and apply to your face with your fingers or a mask brush – I like this Hansderma one!  Leave on until your face is dry to the touch, and then gently wash off.  I use my Glossier Milky Jelly cleanser to help wipe away all residue.

Love, Me
