Gift Guide: Parents

For me, the ultimate gifting challenge is always my mom and dad.  They’re amazing, smart, and notoriously hard to shop for because we are lucky to already have so much.  Here’s what I’d recommend for your parents (and mine!):

DAD

International Rescue Gifts – The International Rescue Committee catalogs their programs and projects into a gift-giving opportunities such as “a safe pregnancy” or “a year of school” for a child.  My parents are incredibly generous people, and I’d love to follow in their footsteps and give back this holiday season.  I’m going to let my mom and dad each choose a gift that means something to them.

Grooming  Products – My dad is extremely well-dressed but woefully ignorant of skincare and haircare!  I’d love to get him this Jack Black Beard Oil and Deep Dive Glycolic Facial Cleanser.

Sugarfina Sea Salt Licorice – While I don’t normally indulge my father’s sweet tooth, the holidays are a time for treats, and Sugarfina has the best.  These licorices are adorable and unique.

Something nostalgic – My dad loves Israel, and I know he misses living there.  I think he’d really like a special set of cuff links, like these Hamsa ones to remind him of home.

MOM

A relaxing spa experience – I had the best facial at Heyday in NYC, and I’m so excited to go again with my mom.

A Book Subscription – My mom loves to read, but she’s a busy woman.  A subscription service like Just The Right Book that sends personalized picks would be a great gift.

Glossier Super Pack – I recently shared my Glossier products with my mother and grandmother

Cozy Jammies – My mom loved the PJ Salvage Elephant PJs I bought for me and my sister so much that we got her a pair too!  Pajama sets are a great cozy gift for anyone on your list.

Joy Interactive Photo Album – This beautiful and innovative new way to enjoy and display photos is the brainchild of a girl I went to college with.  In the days before camera phones, my mom was our family photographer, but in this age of technology, our photo albums haven’t been updated since I was in middle school.  Joy is a gorgeous addition to any family home, combining photo albums and framed photos for display into one sleek gift.  I’m so happy to partner with Joy and give you $50 off with code joyandwater!

What do you get the people who gave you the gift of life?  Love, Me
