As we close out the week, I wanted to take a moment to tell you about someone really important to me. I never met Harper Lee, but my childhood and teenage years was shaped by To Kill a Mockingbird. If you haven’t read it, read it. The morals and themes she espoused in 1960 remain prevalent and vital to our society today, and we should all strive to reflect them as we live our lives.
Harper Lee showed us that you should always do the right thing. And like our protagonist, Atticus Finch, you may not win, but you will distinguish yourself as a giant, because the beauty is in the moral attempt. In TKAM, the ending is both heartbreaking and comforting; even though Finch loses his fight, you know that there are people out there like him that will continue fighting, and for that, you are grateful and inspired. Rest in peace, my literary hero.

Have a beautiful weekend. XX, Gabrielle
