Bonjour!
Even though it is pretty chilly here in Boston, I knew that Montreal would be much colder! It was actually snowing pretty hard in Quebec and Vermont during our drive home on Sunday. I’m so not ready for that here.
I packed pretty light, but I made sure to bring lots of warm clothes. I actually love crisp fall weather, but I always try to err on the side of chic, even when I’m wearing three layers of sweaters, haha! Here’s a little breakdown of what I wore this weekend…
On our first day, we did a lot of Metro riding and garden-seeing. It wasn’t too cold, so I just wore all black with a bright red scarf for accent and warmth.
Jacket: So I guess Victoria’s Secret doesn’t make coats anymore, which is a real shame, because this jacket is amazing. Genuine leather, thick and warm, and so stylish. My mom has been trying to steal it from me for years! Similar styles: ASOS, BB Dakota.
Jeans: Primark makes really comfy, stretchy jeans for beyond cheap! I love the holes in the knee. Similar styles: Lovers + Friends, UNIF.
Purse: I love love love this little Topshop baby! It looks small, but it can hold a lot. Similar styles: Chloe, Forever21, Urban Outfitters.
For a night out:
Friday night we hit up the bars on Crescent Street, which was pretty close to our hotel. It was pouring rain, but I still wanted to look stylish, so I loaded up on leather.
Dress: I’ll be honest, I’m usually not into tight-fitting, bodycon dresses. I am very self-conscious about certain parts of my body, so I usually choose to play up the parts that I like. I got this Forever21 dress in both red and black because it was a sexy long-sleeved dress (very important for cold nights out) and the ruching in the front masks any food baby I might have going on. Similar styles: Forever21, Tiger Mist, Bobi.
Boots: I love thigh-high boots. They are the best kind of multitaskers: they keep you warm while looking incredibly sexy. Guess makes a version of these every year, and I highly recommend them. For stilettos, they are pretty comfy, and I get so many compliments on them! Similar styles: Stuart Weitzman, Joie, ASOS.
For over-eating and then walking 5 miles on a gorgeous Saturday:
Thanks to recommendations from a local, Elaina and I enjoyed Bagel Etc two days in a row! They do large portions, have a diverse menu, and offer free wifi and wonderful, kind service. The owner actually gave us the special window table and Elaina got a free meal for her birthday! Afterwards, we walked for like, ever haha.
Sweater: This camel-colored Madewell cardigan is both warm and soft. I hate feeling itchy! Similar styles: Monki, ASOS.
Tank Top: Any black camisole will do. I wear them under sweaters all winter, or as a sexy top tucked into my jeans. Similar styles: Novella Royale, Michael Lauren.
Boots: My favorite Michael Kors boots! Beyond comfy, and so cute. Similar styles: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Rebecca Minkoff.
Even though I am a summer kind of girl, I really do love the coziness of warm clothes when there’s a brisk chill in the air. If you have a favorite sweater or coat that you recommend, I’d love to hear about it! I need new winter clothes ASAP.
