Another month has come and gone, and it was definitely a tricky one for skincare and makeup! April is definitely a transitional month: half the time, it was mid-eighties and hot, other days it was back in the low fifties, and my skin was not having it. I had to deal with a rare bout of breakouts along with dry skin that was losing its vacation glow.
Here are the new and noteworthy products on my face radar lately:
‘Brigitte‘ is definitely the lipstick I’ve reached for the most this month. It’s a warm peachy nude that brightens up my face and goes with every outfit. In general, NARS Audacious is my favorite lip line. The colors are creamy and smooth and they last all day without reapplication, even through lunch.
I had high hopes for this Physician’s Formula bronzer that beauty vlogger Olivia Jade recommended, but it almost immediately broke me out all over my face. My mom loves it though, so it’s not going to go to waste.
I’m trying to be better about SPF, so I turned to Tatcha, a brand I already love so much for their Tatcha Silken Pore Perfecting Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 35 PA+++. Not only does it promise not to clog your pores, but it’s made with Japanese wild rose, which will tighten them and improve the texture of your skin. I’ve been using it in place of moisturizer; I love a multitasking product.
Speaking of great skincare discoveries, I have a new love from Ole Henriksen, Counter Balance™ Oil Control Hydrator, which has actually been keeping my T-zone pretty shine-free lately. I put this on post-serum, pre-moisturizer and I’ve been powdering my nose a lot less throughout the day.
Finally, NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in ‘Famous Red’ is my new fun lip color for the warm seasons. I love it with a very bare eye and some highlight. I can’t wait to rock it when I’m tan this summer!
Have a beautiful weekend! Love, Me
