Our Style: Pussy Posse

One of the best things about growing up – honestly, many things about being an adult make me miss being a kid – is my relationship with my mother.  She’s still my mom, of course, but we’re also very good friends, and I cherish spending time with her.  Now that we’re both busy, hardworking ladies (I had to learn from someone, didn’t I?), it’s rare that we have hours at a time to just hang out and talk with no obligations.  Getting to spend all Saturday with her at the Women’s March in Boston was a real treat.  We sang together, screamed together, cried together, and then walked all the way home and talked.

I’ve always been very proud to be her daughter, but I recognize how much my life has been shaped by her fine example.  Now that we have a president who mistreats and demeans women, we’ll all need to work harder to make sure that young women and girls have strong role models so that they can grow up and help us shatter these antiquated glass ceilings.

I did a special Sunday post of photos from the march, but I saved the ones of me, my sister and mom for their own post.  I’m so grateful to have my family.  Have a great Monday!  Keep fighting the good fight.

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts with the slogan ‘The Future is Female,’ and I wholeheartedly agree.  But I also have to say, the past was female, and the present is, too.  We’ve always had the strength to fight; we inherited it from our mothers and grandmothers.

Love to all my nasty women.  Love, Me

  1. Aww love this! You and your mom are so cute! I love spending time with my mom too, except she lives liked 7000 miles away so I only get to see her maybe two times a year! She left just last night so this post def made me miss her haha. 🙂

    1. Aw I can’t even imagine how hard that is. I used to live 3 streets away from my parents, and even moving ten minutes farther away feels so far. Hope you guys get to Facetime and stuff a lot – it’s not the same but at least we have the technology!
Lots of love to you and your mom, Sandra 🙂 XO
